CPS refuse to charge defendant in rape case following Quentin’s representation at a pre-charge stage. 

Mr PR was involved in the pornographic video industry. Following a shoot, he had a disagreement with one of the actors that he had shot scenes with. The actor made various threats that he would report PR to the Police for rape which was said to have taken place during the shooting of a pornographic video. 

PR instructed direct access criminal defence barrister Quentin Hunt to look after his interests. 

The case was highly complex with a large amount of audio and video evidence which appeared to contradict the evidence of the complainant. 

Quentin worked with PR to put forward a comprehensive package of evidence to the Police demonstrating that the allegation was a malicious allegation put forward after the event as a result of a falling out.

Following a delay in which the CPS were consulted for a charging decision it was confirmed that No Further Action was taken against PR and he was free to carry on his life without the spectre of the allegations hanging over him. He was delighted.
